Josh Busby coordinates the working group. He is an Assistant Professor of Public Affairs at the LBJ School and is a fellow at the Strauss Center. He is also a non-resident fellow at the Center for a New American Security in Washington, DC.

Dr. Busby has written widely on transnational social movements and mobilization around global public goods issues on such topics as HIV/AIDS, debt relief, climate change, and the International Criminal Court. His works have appeared in International Studies Quarterly, Perspectives on Politics, Security Studies, among other publications. He has written for think tanks and other policy outlets including the Council on Foreign Relations, the Brookings Institution, and CNAS. 

On AIDS, Dr. Busby focuses mostly on the politics of donor giving to global AIDS efforts. He has contributed to a blog on the politics of AIDS and global health for several years. His work on AIDS has appeared in the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Africa On-line forum.

In 2009, Dr. Busby and Ethan Kapstein will be co principal investigators for a new book project on the politics of HIV/AIDS funded by the Merck Foundation. 

He is also the faculty advisor to the UT Chapter of FACE AIDS, a student philanthropic organization that supports Partners in Health AIDS and health activities in Africa.
